We are pleased to act as lead investor or as a follower along with other quality institutional investors. We welcome and encourage the participation of knowledgeable, value-added investors in our financing. We believe that our portfolio companies benefit from a diversity of views, experiences and relationships. When we act as a lead investor, we can arrange, as needed, for the additional participation of other high-quality investors. We prefer to see senior business people on boards of directors. We do not serve on the board of directors ourselves. However, we do place our Limited Partners on the boards of portfolio companies.

As directors, these Limited Partners bring their business and operating experience to assist the management of our portfolio companies because, unlike many directors with only financial backgrounds, these Limited Partners have been in the operating trenches and built businesses. They have suffered setbacks as well as enjoyed success. Our Limited Partners prove invaluable allies to an ambitious management team. Where needed, we work with portfolio companies to attract outside directors of value to the business.
